It's so nice to be at RICE.

In the summer of 2009, RICE welcomed Executive Chef Rocío Varela to its kitchen. In 2007, Chef Valera captured the hearts of TV audiences as she opened her kitchen to reality cameras as Executive Chef at Parker Meridien Palm Springs for the BRAVO series "Welcome to the Parker." Now she tempts your palate with her delectable menus that reflect her love for Latin, French and Asian flavors and are inspired by her Puerto Rican heritage.

Chef Varela's own dietary restrictions have also inspired her to include several gluten-free options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With the arrival of Varela and the unveiling of her new menus, RICE promises to keep taste buds in bliss.

Drawing from her Latin roots of Puerto Rico, Chef Varela has combined traditional Latin flavors with Asian cuisine for each RICE entrée. For the first and most important meal of the day, gourmet selections include Chicken and Waffles with marinated chicken confit, fig jam, and vanilla syrup and the health conscious Tofu Scramble with bountiful sautéed vegetables and brown rice. Lunch has never tasted better with Varela's open face Ahi sandwich with sofrito mayo, chimichurri, lotus root, baby greens and lemongrass dressing is light and inspired dish which is bursting with flavor. Dinner is truly indulgent, showcasing Rack of Lamb with chimichurri, caramelized pearl onions, crispy potato roll and mint gelée, as well as a full selection of meat, poultry and fresh fish. Lighter portions and shared portions available for the perfect level of satisfaction every time.
